If you know me, you’re aware of that I’m a huge Judas Priest fan. So, no wonder I really got excited when I heard front man Rob Halford indicating that ‘Redeemer Of Souls’ won’t be the last studio record in an interview on One on One With Mitch Lafon Podcast. Being asked what keeps him motivated still making new music after 40 years, his answer is the following:
“It’s just been inspired by all the great things that go on around you. We’re all metal heads, we’re all metal fans in Priest, we love to see whats happening out there in the metal world, […] it gives me personally a bless and when you still have the creative juices, ’cause that’s what it’s all about, you really want to write another metal song. When you’re all feeling that way, especially the trio as it stands now of Glenn and Richie and myself, why stop it? You know, if you feel like you want to go in there and see what you can do again, then do it. This was an extraordinary moment for us with Richie, and again, we can’t overstate his importance at this point in the band’s career, that there’s a whole different kind of surge going on here. So, I’m optimistic. I think there will definitely be another Priest album. When we’ve completed the work for the ‘Redeemer of Souls’ tour, which is going to be quite extensive into next year, then I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if we get ready to do another one.”
Having heard this statement from the metal god himself certainly made my day! It’s great to see how much he still feels passionate and committed to what he’s doing.

Cool! I hope it’s as good as the last one!
If we look at their discography and the amount of killer albums they released in the past we can be pretty confident about that :-) Also it seems like Richie took over a big part in the songwriting process according to Halford. I’m pretty sure he hasn’t showed us all he’s got yet.. Let’s see, I’m definitely optimistic about that.
